I am so blessed I do not have to be out in the snow. This is my driveway 20 minutes after I shoveled it. I just may have to wait until my DH gets home and let him do it while I make supper. The worst is knowing my children and their families have to drive in it. Plus it's still early in the season. We will get a lot more. YUCK

These things hanging are pomanders. I just love them so the flat ones are hanging on the wall next to the washing machine. My husband doesn't like things like these but I do. My friend Nancy gave me 3 beautiful ones (the one with the raised yellow flowers) she gave me 2 of them and one is hanging in the bathroom and DH is taking a shower now so I'll just let you know it's there. Nancy also gave me skin cream that is so nice to use after a warm shower.

The tall one is my deer happy husband whom after 3 years got a 6 pointer deer. His friend is in his 70's and went with him. (Thank-God he did he helped him pull it out of the woods.) Being a smart woman I wouldn't of shot the deer unless he was on my truck so I would'nt have to lift it. Jim was happy for 2 weeks. He gave our neighbors some of the meat and we were invited over to dinner, I need to pay them back soon as we've gone there a few times for dinner.

I started making these as Christmas gifts but I will have to go back to baking bread and wash-clothes to finish this years list.

My friend has a lot of really dirty glass blocks in his garage and his wife is very happy I wanted them. I got out my drill and put on the diamond tip and started to drill through the back side of the block...Easier said than done, but not bad, then I took a string of 50 multi-colored lights and slowly put each light through the hole. Then I wrapped a big red ribbon around the side and bowed it on the top and plugged it it. It makes a great night light looks cute under a tree lit up. So far everyone I gave them to claimed to really like them. I want to make at least 10 more and my friend is willing to give me more blocks but for the life of me I can not find any more lights. So I plan on baking bread and making washclothes to give out to the friends you don't want to buy gifts for but you want to let them know you want to give them something because they mean a lot to you. So look out dollar tree next year I'll buy at least 15 boxes of lights.
Do you think they are pretty???

My pumpkin this Halloween, I carved one for my mom but she took it before I got a picture of it. Next year I will have my camera ready.
We went to my future DIL's & my wonderful son Justin for a pumpkin carving party. It's the 3 one we had and plan on having many more. It was a lot of fun.
Our neighbor Clayton and Mike on the left
Jim's daughter Jaimie & Kevin(boyfriend) shared the day with us also. Dolly stayed on the ground she has a bad knee she said she still loved the ceremony. We all did.

It was a beautiful (cold) but sunshine and good friends went to the Navel Park in Buffalo,NY for memorial day.My Husband Jim holding our grandson Giovanni was in the Navy for 4 years.

Never let this man borrow your camera he will take forever to give it back and when he does he will forget to bring the cord you need back with it.

But isn't he just the cutest?

I just love good days, and today is another good day. My mom called me today at 7:30am to tell me the plant I planted in honor of my dad had bloomed today. My son sent me a picture of it to me on my cell phone. I planted the hibiscus plant Sept.3, My dad passed away Sept.4th. Mom said she thought dad was just letting us all know he is fine.

This is what Santa does in the summer time!!!

I haven't made peach jam in a real long time and trust me it will be a lot longer until I do it again.. I sure hope it doesn't turn out to taste like peach rubber..

Nancy, if you see this smile you may get one for Christmas. HO HO HO

I've been busy, This is my grandson who loves my hat thing that I use to wash hats with. He wears it every time he comes over,

My dad passed away early Friday September 4th. He was 87 and had a wonderful life, He got bladder cancer and did well with it for the first 4 months. When he found out that he only had a few more months to live his first thought was darn, I guess I will miss Justin's wedding. ( Justin is getting married on June 19th 2010.)

I was thank-ful I was with my dad when he died. He wanted to be home and he was. He had hospice which really helped my mom. The last 2 days of his life he would wake up saying It's so beautiful, It's so beautiful, I asked him if he saw anyone he said Yes he saw John Wassink, John was a longtime neighbor and family friend who died years ago. I asked him if he saw Dick Schultz a life long friend. He said No not yet, but it sounded like he was expecting to. At one time he asked my mom who the lady was that was sitting on his bed. He said she was beautiful. My dad's mom passed away when he was only 7 so we thought it may be her.

I woke up at 1am to give him his medicine and I always held his hand when I did. He squeezed my hand and I said I love you too dad. With that he took 2 more breaths and was gone.

I know on Justin's wedding day I will be sad that dad won't be their in body but I know his spirt will be.

Are you seeing double??? It could be because I was in a hurry, (Never a good thing) I got these today from my Mary Jane FarmGirl secret sister. All the way from Ct. and not a chip out of it. I will enjoy sipping my tea from this. The book has some great recipes in it also. What a nice surprise. Thank-you MJFGSS

My DH decided to throw me a surprise party for my 58th birthday.OH dear am I really that old??? He told me about it at 8:30 in the morning and then he wanted me to go with him to buy hotdogs & hamburgers, ice ect. I ended up making potato salad, rice krispies treats and jello shots. Thank God he invited only a few of my closest friends. Some couldn't make it. It's hard to change plans when you are given a day's notice.
He did buy me a beautiful and tasty cake. and I did get some real nice gifts. I got 2 beautiful hanging wind chimes. one is an angel the other a bee. Nancy gave me the beautiful dish towel she designed. That will get a lot of use. I do love birthday party's but I don't like getting older. Next year my DH Jim will be turning 50!!!I think I'll give him a party. And I'll let him know a week before so he will clean the garage again.

Just a few pictures of my plants. The bottom one has straw flowers in it, not sure what else I put in there but I just love the feel of the straw flowers. The stand that it is in is a big heavy brass flower stand that at one time was probley in a funeral home. I got it for $4.00 at the thrift store last year. I just love it.
The middle flower is a lilly that is 1/2 way bloomed out. They are beautiful when they are in bloom. The picture on the right is of my tall red flock.( It is the shortest one in this picture. Usually they do better than the picture looks. I have the entire side of the garage with just the tall red flock. I usually get people who want a picture of them in bloom. My garage is yellow so they looked great for years. This year the deer are eating more and more of them so I only have green nubbed off plants there this year. It was the only thing my dad could actually see from his house.

It was a nice party, there was a tornato that touched down a few miles from his home and a rainbow that showed up after. But I have to start supper now so if I have the picture in my camera I will show it when I have more time.

Diane is above trying to get the picture, Then Peggy above tried.
I think I got the best one with this picture on the left. But we laughed and laughed.

This is what my friends & I look like when I forgot that I had the camera on zoom....

The two ladies to my your left are Peggy & Diane. Two of the best friends anyone could ask for. Peggy lives about 1 & 1/2 hours from me and Diane about 45 minutes away. Close enough but far away. We decided we would just get together in July after canceling 3 times due to family's we finally had our day on Tuesday. It was great I drove to Diane's then she drove the rest of the way to Peg's. We went to the south side deli for a great lunch then Peggy gave use a tour of the area. Then to help her out we peeled apples for her and helped her make a few pies to take on her trip the next day. The best part was the laughing when we were trying to get a picture of the 3 of us. They (as usual) look great. I'm another story. But, we had a lot of much needed fun. We promised we would not let 3 years go by again with out hooking up. Hopefully they will be spending a few days with me in August.

I have been up to the hospital everyday with my dad but I wanted to make sure my DH had a good meal so I made him a very tasteful Pot Roast dinner in the crock-pot. My favorite way to cook especially in the heat. He informed me he had to go and help his daughter who needed a new hot water tank. I asked him if he would put the roast in the fridge. As you can see he did. It was still warm when I got home 3 hours later. Poor guy suffers from simple man syndrome. But, he is a wonderful husband, Yes I did tell him to put it in a different container, but there was room and he tried, I can't fault him for that.

I need to get outside with my camera.

Thursday, July 2, 2009

This is my husband Jim. He found a stray in our yard. This is Jim feeding his dinner to the little kitten. Jim still says no to owning a cat.

We have a stray cat in our yard. I think the mother cat is our neighbors. They leave him out all year long, and I doubt he feeds them. His guy was hungry. My DH who says No to owning a kitten fed him some roast beef.

My big softie husband who said No to owning a cat. He is allergic to them. So the kitty's name is No No Kitty. He doesn't come in the house yet but he loves the yard and my DH

We went to see tragically hip a rock band. They were playing in Ohio. I live in NY. We rented a limo with 21 other people and it took us to the house of blues in Ohio and back again. On a trip that far and most people drinking all the way a few potty breaks were needed. I just didn't think it was fair there was 6 women who went and not a one of us would go and pee on the side of the road. We had to wait another 17 miles for a rest stop. Thank God the rest stop was clean, we must of looked funny walking as fast as we could to the potty.

It was a very good concert. They are playing up here this week-end but I heard they were sold out.

I'm not sure but I think there are 4 little robins in there. Mom usually flies over my head when I'm outside. She seems like a good mom. I took this picture and she flew back to keep them warm. It's cold out.

It's Thursday, where does the time go??? My camera is still in Attica, I went to the bike blessing, In Blasdell, N.Y. There was about 2,000 motorcycles that attened. It was great but would of been better with pictures. Next year I'll get them.
I did a few things that I would of loved to have my camera near by. Planted my gardens, yeah.......
Today the mammogram and Bone dentsy scan. Those ones are easy...Have you had yours done this year?

Thursday, May 21, 2009

It's Thursday, I planned on working outside in my garden all day but my plans have changed. I have my grandson all day.(I will probley have him until Sunday) and I have gram ma Rose to take care of tonight.
I received an E-mail a few days ago, It was a good one. It said to write IN GOD WE TRUST on all of our outgoing mail. It said that only 14% of the population don't believe in God and they are ruining it for all of us normal people. Anyway I went to put it on Across the Fence and very nice topic place on the Mary Jane farm girl site and it was not allowed. So for the first time I've have been deleted. I wasn't when I asked how people felt about Tarrot cards, but God got deleted. It just doesn't seem right.
Go and enjoy the day that God has made for us, say a prayer of thanks, and write IN GOD WE TRUST on all your out going mail. Have a great day.
Visit me next Thursday, I write a new note every Thursday...

Thursday, May 14, 2009

Wow these Thursday's come quickly. My DH and I went to my home in Attica. We painted the living room soft leather, it looks olive green and the buttermilk color in the kitchen looks more like milk than butter but it's done and clean. My son Jason who lives there helped last night but had to work today and won't get home before 9 tonight. I did leave a mess because he is planning on putting in a new carpet in the living room so I couldn't put things back. Oh well.
I also gave my brother a haircut and my dad a shave and a haircut. Now he looks like a Marine or Elmer Fudd. He's 87 so he doesn't care what his hair looks like.
I left my camera in Attica. Jason wants to sell his piano. I want him to keep playing it but once me masters something he's bored and moves on to other things. So he's going to sell it and wanted to put a picture of it in the paper. So this picture is of Giovanni a few months ago he was not sure which hat he wanted to wear so he wore 4 of them.

Thursday, May 7, 2009

Oh dear I swear it wasn't there a minute ago and now there are 2.

It's Thursday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I promised myself that I would write something every Thursday at least. I actually did write something this morning but I must of not hit Publish Post. I have been trying to get things out for good-will but I'm having a hard time saying Bye Bye to all my stuff that I plan on doing when I find the time....... I like to always put a picture with my posts...That way they may not be so boring.........I got these at the thrift store a while back. They all fit together so you only really have one dust collector instead of 5. Neat huh....

Oh, it's Thursday and I told myself every Thursday I would put something on my blog. It's raining outside I could go to the thrift but I really need to pack up some things for goodwill before I go buy more stuff. I got these on one of my trips to the thrift, I just think they are cute. They all fit one inside of the other so it really doesn't take up much space and my grandson likes to play with them when he's not playing car's...
